[jitsi-users] One to One calls

#1

Does the functionality of making one-to-one call with Jitsi Meet without having to invite someone using a URL, exist? Is that even possible?

No. Jitsi Meet currently only operates as a rendez-vous service.

Is that even possible?

Not sure I understand the question. Are you asking if it's possible to
develop? If so, then yes, it is.

Yes, I meant develop as a feature. I meant to ask whether development of such a feature (one-to-one calls) would be a change required in 1. Just JVB + Jicofo 2. Just Jitsi Meet3. Both

1. Just JVB + Jicofo

3. Both

The easiest way to implement this (where calls are basically just
invitation that you send to other people to join the conference) require no
changes to any of these.

Yes, I was thinking on those lines.
- Send the invitation to a single person (without showing them the URL per se) (jitsimeet front end change)- Enhance the user experience by playing a sound of ringing / disconnection (jitsimeet front end change)- Notify the receiving user (probably something in the backend needed to push a notification out to a user. so might involve prosody etc.??)- Alert pops up at their end showing them who is 'calling', with accept and decline options. (jitsimeet front end change)
Do you think that should do it? Also some advice on point 3 please would be helpful.
