[jitsi-users] not able to place calls on windows 8 through VPN

#1

I am using the latest version of Jitsi daily build (2015-05-05 03:07)

I installed it on a Windows 8 64bit machine. I am able to receive phone calls, but when I try to send calls, it is not able to complete the call.

It does work though if I am sending calls on the same local network.

It works using Jitsi 2.9 on Ubuntu for both the local network and VPN.

I installed x-lite on the Windows 8 machine and it was able to both send/receive calls over the VPN.

Any ideas on how to get Jitsi to send calls on Windows 8 through the VPN?

thanks,

Geoff

Hi.

Should I move this to the dev list? It seems to be a bug in the Windows code, since it works OK on Linux.

thanks,

Solved the issue.

The UDP packet was to large to fit through the VPN.

I needed to reduce the number of codecs in order to reduce the size of the UDP packet.

I figured it out when I was looking to submit a bug and found this in the FAQ:

https://jitsi.org/Documentation/FAQ#fragmentation

thanks!!
