[jitsi-users] Newbie Question -- sip to jitsi-videobridge

#1

Hi all,
I’m completely new to this Videoconferencing stuff.

I have a working Jitsi-meet and video bridge.
I managed to have video conferences in the web browser and on mobile phone.

Additionally I try to get our Polycom Videoconfence System to join such a meeting via a SIP call.
I managed to get audio working with the jigasi and a sip software (kamailio)

Should this be possible to work for video too or am I missing something?
If this should work, are there configuration examples somewhere? If not, what might possibly be missing??

Thanks in advance for any helpful answers,
Frank

Welcome to Jitsi then!

Jigasi only supports audio, we have a different contraption for integration with video rooms: Jibri (https://github.com/jitsi/jibri). The documentation is lacking at the moment (the support for SIP calling is relatively recent), but hopefully you are able to set it up.

Thanks a lot, then I don’t have to investigate deeper.
Those Jibri things sound complicated — no simple apt install. I will then have to postpone this to after summer due to current workload. And we keep using laptops to conference :-).
Cheers,
Frank
