[jitsi-users] newbie: conference id in meet

#1

Hi

I'm initialising a Jitsi Meet conference with a uuid, e.g.

https://server/475e6f7c6c0c11e58a567b0493c8694b

and the logging is going to influxdb. This all works nicely.

My problem is there is no reference to the initial conference id (uuid)
in the influxdb output.

I need to add my uuid field to the influxdb output, so could someone
tell me the best place to pick that value up from?

I suspect I may need to get hold of the peer jid from the focus endpoint
(this is what I'm not sure of) and add a new field into Conference.java
to hold the prefix uuid from the jid (below), and then I can query the
Conference field easily from within the influx code.

1. peerJid: "475e6f7c6c0c11e58a567b0493c8694b@conference.meeting.x.com/4f19bd53"

Does that make sense? I'm really surprised the conference ID is not
already in the output, surely a lot of folks have the same requirement.

Thanks for any help

p.s. i think the docs should be updated to mention that you can add
sip-communicator.properties into the current dir, the
/usr/jitsi-videobridge/.sip-communicator stuff didn't work for me and it
took a while to find the reference to cwd in the code.

Conference.java already holds this value in the "name" field. This was recently added and isn't used in the influxdb code.
