do you mind getting into your OSX networking config and your router
and trying OpenDNS?
First take note (or screen capture, or print screen) your current DNS
config values in case you want to restore that later.
It doesnt hurt and might actually give you a better DNS service with
added privacy than your ISP....
Primary DNS 208.67.222.222
Secondary DNS 208.67.220.220
Depending on your wifi router setup you might ned to change it both on
the router and your system too.
Then see if it makes a difference. Also make sure you have your old
config at hand before making any changes.

PS The latest Java runtime for OS X 10.7.3 or higher has been released
today (Java 7 update 40) It includes Retina display support.
and is a recommended update, if you want to see if it makes a
