[jitsi-users] New Jibri

#1

For anyone who hasn't been on one of the last few community calls, a Jibri
rewrite has been in progress for a few months now and it was just pushed to
master in the Jibri repo <https://github.com/jitsi/jibri>. There is some
information in the README there about the old Jibri (including a link to
the branch where it can still be found). It also notes some differences
between the old and new Jibri (for example, the config file format is
different).

"New" Jibri currently supports the file recording and youtube streaming
features of the old Jibri, and the SIP gateway feature is in progress right
now and should hit master soon.

We tried to make Jibri a bit more straightforward to install (it can be
built into a debian package), though some setup for the deployment machine
is still required. We're working on making the installation simpler and
easier for users to do.

Hi , Could you please elaborate how to install jibri ? I try "https://github.com/jitsi/jibri/blob/fc16e53ac915f32afab3303e1a32eb50c60dd90f/doc/debian_package.md" at my ubuntu16 VPS , but failed to find the `create_debian_package_script` .

Should I build it myself ?

Regards !

Sorry, looks like that doc is already out of date. The debian package is
currently created as part of a 'release' in the release script here
https://github.com/jitsi/jibri/blob/fc16e53ac915f32afab3303e1a32eb50c60dd90f/resources/jenkins/release.sh.
However, notice that that script does other work as well (such as increment
a git tag) so you'll want to just copy out the debian package parts of it.
I think it'd be useful to have the debian stuff be more standalone; I'll
look at extracting the debian logic out to a separate script.
