[jitsi-users] multiple instances of jitsi-meet in jicofo

#1

Hi,

When I updated jitsi-meet from the ubuntu packages, there was a new
functionality implemented that disallows the use of jitsi on mobile
without the android/ios app. However, our clients can't use jitsi with
this functionality, so I had to git clone the repository to disable this
functionality and compile jitsi-meet myself, which works.

I want to keep both versions of jitsi-meet installed on the server, the
git-cloned version and the apt version, e.g. at conf.mycompany.com and
jitsi-dev.mycompany.com .

How can I link jicofo to this new instance ? In other words, is it
possible to have multiple instances of jitsi-meet running on the same
common jicofo / videobridge ?

Thank you

I don't think you need to do anything special about it. Browsers from both jitsi-meet instances will connect to the same prosody instance, so everything should be fine.

Boris
