[jitsi-users] Microphone and webcam not detected in chrome if using the API

#1

Hi,

I recently installed and configured a Jitisi-Meet instance on a server in order to use its API to embed Jitsi in a videoconference module.
When I test the Jitsi-Meet server through its regular interface (like the one you'd see at meet.jits.si) everything goes well with Firefox and Chrome (or Chromiun when using an app with webview). However when I try to use it via the API to embed the Jitsi room on my page I get an error when trying to connect to the room saying that Jitsi cannot detect my mic nor my webcam. I do see that there are 2 participant in the room but those using chrome can't send any video or audio (since the Jitsi room can »t detect any audio/vidéo device).

I hope someone can give me pointers as to what I could do (change something in Jitsi Front or Videobridge config maybe ?) and thank you for reading !

Regards,
Jean-Sébastien

Are you always using https? It will not work if the webrtc's
getUserMedia is used over http.

The iframe is in HTTPS but the page it's included in is in HTTP (since it's only a staging/dev environment).
I'll try to set up a test environment withe main site in HTTPS too.

I put the page in which the Jitsi iframe was included in HTTPS too and it indeed resolved the problem for Chrome, thank you!
