[jitsi-users] meet.jit.si and firefox

#1

Hello,

meet.jit.si tells me that I'd have to use Chrom(ium) or Opera.
Any chance that Firefox works in the near future?
What about internet explorer?

Unfortunately neither of these depend on us. We will add support for
other browsers as soon as they start supporting the necessary
technologies (multi-stream support in Firefox and WebRTC or ORTC for
Internet Explorer). As far as we know both are just a matter of "when"
and not so much an "if"

It might help to speed up the „when“ for Firefox by voting on https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=784517

Thanks. But with just 11 votes now, it doesn't really sound as if people
were interested in having that feature in.

The discussion there seems to indicate that it multistream support is
planned for FF 35. That sounds like some more months without that
feature in firefox. :frowning:
