[jitsi-users] Manually edit contactlist.xml

#1

Hello Everybody,

I have many contacts and as far as I am aware there is no import-function in Jitsi, isn't it?

Is it possible to manually edit contactlist.xml? ... because this would be the place to go, right?

I tested to just insert snippets:

<meta-contact uid="15162834644631322279619">
<display-name user-defined="true">Test</display-name>
<contact account-id="SIP:name@sip.discountvoip.co.uk" address="021136751@sip.discountvoip.co.uk" parent-proto-group-uid="RootGroup.uid">
<persistent-data>xcap.resolved=false;</persistent-data>
</contact>
</meta-contact>

This seems to work very well.

Now the number behind uid= ... is it just random? It needs to be different from the others for it to work.

And alltogether is this a possible way to go?

Best wishes from Germany,

Thomas

Has anyone an idea?

Is it possible to add contacts via the contactlist.xml file?

Best,

Thomas

Hey, yep this should work as long as uid is unique. I think it is a
timestamp and something else... I need to dig in the code to see, but
it was something like that, unique.

It worked like a charm!

All my contacts are in the new phone!

One thing to watch: Charakters like "&" in the names break everthing. So avoid these!
