[jitsi-users] Main Identity Not Updated on Account Switch

#1

Hello,

I noticed when you switch among your accounts, enabling or disabling them, the main identity referring to the active (the one in use) account isn't update . In order to refresh it you have to restart jitsi. That wouldn't be a so big problem until your no-more-active account is not sent in your call id but that happens instead on videoconference ( name + avatar logo are sent and locally displayed ).

Regards.

Hey Mark,

Hello,

I noticed when you switch among your accounts, enabling or disabling them,
the main identity referring to the active (the one in use) account isn't
update . In order to refresh it you have to restart jitsi. That wouldn't be
a so big problem until your no-more-active account is not sent in your call
id but that happens instead on videoconference ( name + avatar logo are sent
and locally displayed ).

I am not sure about the display name but I am quite certain we never
send any avatars at all during video conferences. The client would
just show whatever avatars they have already cached for you. I
*believe* that the same goes for display name but I might be wrong in
case we are retrieving the global display name and sending that
through COIN ... I really don't think we are though.

So, I guess what I am trying to say is: could this be a caching issue
at the remote side?

Emil

Hey Emil,
thanks for your fast reply , i made further checks with clean installations and you're right it prolly was a caching issue on remote side showing wrong id .

Although locally on caller window (videoconf) and main contacts list still the main identity isn't runtime updated but still need a restart .

Anyway , not a so big deal.

Regars.
