[jitsi-users] Linux, black video screen

#1

Hi all,

Recently I updated to the latest version of Jitsi, since I realized I had
1.0 for a while.
However, the newest stable, as well as yesterday's nightly build have a
problem with video: if I go to jitsi's options -> Video, I see all black.
The webcam is detected, as I see the name in the combo box (/dev/video0).

In contrast, video was working fine with v1.x. I am not sure how to provide
more information to help diagnose the issue. I also tried making a call and
the problem persists, namely video is black.

I am using archlinux, Linux 3.9.4-1 x86_64 GNU/Linux.

Thank you,
Carlos

I think I found a solution.
By chance I tried Oracle's JRE and it worked. So, summarizing, video
doesn't seem to work with openJDK, which is what I had installed before.

It is strange though, because it worked fine with jitsi v1.x.

Cheers.
