[jitsi-users] Latest Android build unusable

#1

Hi,

the latest Android build (123) has made the app unusable as the chat window activity only turns the screen black on my Galaxy S4, Cyanogenmod 10.1 (Android 4.2.3).

Confirmed.
Minor point: till Android version 116 the desktop icon (program
shortcut) was the same as with other Jitsi versions on Win/Mac/Linux,
however from version 120 onwards the icon looks colour-inverted/dark
blue and is simply too dark for easy recognition on the screen. Could
this be revised to the previous icon?
Please continue the great work on the Android version!

thx, MS

Could you please try the latest version ? I was unable to reproduce
issue on my phone, but I've added some small fixes.

If the problem persists please try to use "send logs" option and send
them to me or on the list. We store logs from 3 last Jitsi runs. So to
collect those from the crash just force close jitsi, restart it and
then use send logs option.

Pawel

Hi Mr.Smith,

Confirmed.

We're currently looking at the issue.

version 120 onwards the icon looks colour-inverted/dark blue and is simply

Yes, we're currently experimenting with the icon, we'll come up with a
monochrome icon that looks well on the dark background in the following
days.

Thanks for the report!

Please continue the great work on the Android version!

Why would I want to have a monochrome icon in the app draer or on the
home screen? Can't we just get the normal Jitsi icon back that Jitsi has
in the application menu on any platform, except Android right now?

Hi Yana,
here some other noticed small issues/bugs:

+) the "arrow back" button in the upper left corner is not reacting,
only my hardware button moves back
+) my mobile give sound (vibrating) after being called still further
when the connection is already established
+) how to delete an account? Maybe I missed it but after creating the
account(s) they can be turned on or off but not deleted.
+) how to hide offline contacts? My contact list is quite long and to
find online contacts (marked in green) takes some time.
+) Android-Jitsi freezes quite often and can only be turned off via
taskmanager (not via return-button)

HTC Sensation
Android 4.0.3 (factory version)
Jitsi version: 125

kind regards, MS

We thought the regular icon doesn't look that well on Android. (Too much
detail for the size). We've therefore decided to change it.

We are likely to migrate to the new one everywhere.

Hi,

Thanks for the logs ! I believe it might be fixed in upcoming
build(#125).

thank you, the new build works!

But now an old bug has returned: Upon starting the app, when the own
vCard avatar is loaded, the avatars of all contacts that do not have one
are replaced with the user's own avatar.
