[jitsi-users] Jitsi Sip prensence, Subscribe and Notify signals

#1

Hi,

I'm having an amazing experience because Jitsi is a great client in any way.

I'm using Jitsi in the following scenario:

Xmpp Server Openfire 3.7
Sip Server Asterisk 11
Jitsi 2.5.5205 as Xmpp and Sip client

Just a question about the Sip presence:

How can I make Jitsi to send Subscribe and Notify signals to Asterisk like
as doing Xlite client in order to notify its status presence ?

I have seen that Jitsi is Sip compliant and support that signals. I have
alreay selected the 'Active Sip presence (SIMPLE)' flag in the Sip
preferences panel with no luck. In the meantime I'm testing the flag 'force
presence peer-to-peer' but I still not understand the way it works.

Please let me know if there is a chance to make the Jitsi Sip prensence to
work as the Subscribe and Notify signals expected.

Thank you.

Just add a contact to your contact list, and Jitsi will subcscibe for its presence.

Hello Emil,

thank you for your reply.

Sorry, you are right but I did a mistake with my question.

I have confused the "Basic SIP Presence", that imply only the on-line and
off-line status, with the "Rich SIP Information Presence" that support all
other status like Away, On the phone, In a meeting, Busy and other... The
bad news is that these status are not supported by Asterisk, maybe XCAP
server is required.

So, I want to conclude with a wish:

When I set Jitsi Sip status to 'Do Not Disturb'(Busy), it could be very
great if Jitsi sends back a Sip response 486 to indicate a Busy state when
incoming calls arrive. Even by adding an option flag in the Sip
configuration panel to activate/deactivate this behavior to accommodate who
want use this option or not.

Emil have a nice day and sorry for mistake.

Thank you.

Same thing. You just need to add contacts to your contact list.

The bad news is that these status are not supported by
Asterisk, maybe XCAP server is required.

XCAP servers only store contacts. They don't generate presence events.

So, I want to conclude with a wish:

We already support this. Just open your configuration editor (Options->Advanced->Property Editor) and create the following property:

net.java.sip.communicator.impl.protocol.RejectIncomingCallsWhenDnD

then set it to "true"

Cheers,
Emil
