[jitsi-users] Jitsi one-to-many screen sharing (video bridge)

#1

Hi list,

Is it possible to do a one-to-many screen sharing session where there is
only one video 'sender', with multiple video recipients on the call?

I have an Openfire server running the Jingle Nodes and Jitsi videobridge
plugins, and videoconferencing works, but unfortunately I can't seem to
find a way to hide the screens of the members on the call that aren't
transmitting video - a profile picture is displayed regardless and there
doesn't seem to be a way to hide it, taking up valuable screen real-estate
and making the video stream of the person sharing their desktop too small
to see.

Ideally, we'd have one person sharing their screen (the trainer, in this
case) and many viewers (who aren't transmitting video) able to view nothing
but the maximized video stream of the one person who is transmitting,
rather than a checkerboard of profile pics with a tiny screen among them

Thanks,

Mike

Yes.

That's fixed in the latest nightly. Could you please try with it?

Thanks,
Emil

You might want to try the nightly builds which contain a new interface for video conferences.

Hi Emil,

Looks like that's done it! Thanks for the tip - the new UI is an
improvement as well  Hopefully this can hit stable soon, but until then
nightly builds it is!

Many thanks,

Mike
