[jitsi-users] Jitsi meet slow when 2+ users

#1

I've just set up the latest version of prosody-trunk, jitsi videobridge and
jitsi meet on Oracle Linux (in virtual machine). Everything is working fine
more or less, except the fact that the latency and packetloss increases
when more than 2 users are in the same room.

I also notice that chrome increases the bandwith rapidly (2Mbps up and down
per user), while after a few minutes it makes a drop and the packetloss
increases . The CPU load is just fine (5%, so that isn't an issue, only
1,5GB/2GB RAM is used).

Is it possible to limit the bandwith? I've tried applying options like
'b=AS:512' in 'libs/colibri/colibri.focus.js', and chrome changes the
googActualEncBitrate around the value, but the real data transferred is way
to high.

What is causing these kind of delays? Ports 80, 443 and 4443 are open, as
well as the high ports.

Hey Dries,

Sounds like a bandwidth issue indeed. Do you also get it on meet.jit.si? If not then it's probably a limitation on your server's connection.

You can try enabling simulcast and adaptive last n and see if that makes a difference.
