[jitsi-users] Jitsi meet SIP usecase

#1

Hi.
I have a usecase that I would like to put forward to the Jitsi mailing list and get some ideas. There are two possible scenarios.
- I would like to make a call via jitsimeet to a landline. - In a conference, I would like to invite a person that might be available on a landline via audio.
Is the above possible? If so could someone describe a high level design for the same?
Thanks.

You guys deserve it. It's great project and bunch of people.
So here's one of our use cases, how about integrating text messaging /sms into the mix? I would love to have the ability to route messages to either a XMPP client (if the user is online) and if the user is not online, route it to their cellphone via SMS. Now, I know this can be solved differently by writing some custom code inbetween and integration with an external SMS gateway using their API. but I was wondering if something like this can be integrated within Jitsi so that the groupchat of the conference can go to everyone that's online and offline.
Using something like Kannel or Asterix?

You’re talking about adding this functionality in the Jitsi client, right? This is a neat feature and it could be done, but AFAIK I know we’re not working on something like this ATM. If you’ve written-up something, we’d be glad to give you some feedback.

Best,
George
