[jitsi-users] Jitsi meet not installing on xUbuntu

#1

I’ve installed Jitsi like many times before following the Jitsi site’s documents for installing to Ubuntu.

The Jitsi-meet installs but it does not create any desktop / menu entry while it does install all related programs.

Any one have Jitsi working on Ubuntu / xubuntu ?

Xubuntu 16.04-64b

I’ve never tried installing it on a machine with a desktop environment, but I’m not sure I’d expect a server component to create any sort of GUI icon?

Indeed.

Install Firefox on Ubuntu and you'll get a desktop icon / menu entry for it.

Install Apache on the same machine and you won't.

Antony.
