[jitsi-users] Jitsi-meet display name as an MUC nickname in Smack

#1

I wondered if there was a way of getting the users display name from the jitsi meet chat window so it can be used within the code that manipulates the muc.

I need this so an agent that is listening to the chat can take the display name of a user so each message can be stored with a reference of who sent it.

When i look at the chat using smack i can get the muc nickname which is a shortened version of each users JID neither of which i have a record of as these are generated at the time of joining the jitsi meet conference.

Thanks.

We include the display name in presence packets. See here[1] for an example of how to access it with Smack.
