[jitsi-users] Jitsi Meet Android - Planned to be released on F-Droid?

#1

Hello,

Jitsi Meet for Android has been released on Play Store, since Jitsi Meet is FOSS, I think (but not sure) that the Android version is also FOSS.

Is it planned to release Jitsi Meet on F-Droid ?

Thank you,
Keyhaku

We haven’t looked into it yet (busy with other stuff) but that’s on our radar. That said, since we don’t use any google Play services you are free to download the apk directly from one of the numerous services providing mirrors, or better yet, build it yourself!

Cheers,

Cheers,

I don't get it, what do you need an app for anyways?

Just run https://meet.jit.si on your FireFox and it works. Tried it :wink:

The app does not look like something final and btw.. floating
programming like this in MainActivity:

if (!getReactNativeHost()

.getReactInstanceManager()

.getDevSupportManager()

.getDevSupportEnabled()) {

// TODO Auto-generated method stub

}

without try-catches will just result in a fatal crash of the app.
Whoever coded it, may wanne change this ( and add some function to the
ifcodepart :wink: )

best regards,
Marius
