[jitsi-users] jitsi is bound/dependant on libavfilter4 instead of libavfilter5

#1

Hi all,
Newbie to jitsi. I tried installing jitsi on testing/jessie and was unable to.

$ sudo aptitude install jitsi libjitsi-jni
The following NEW packages will be installed:
  jitsi libjitsi-jni{b}
0 packages upgraded, 2 newly installed, 0 to remove and 0 not upgraded.
Need to get 11.5 MB of archives. After unpacking 48.0 MB will be used.
The following packages have unmet dependencies:
libjitsi-jni : Depends: libavfilter4 (>= 6:10~beta1~) which is a
virtual package.
The following actions will resolve these dependencies:

     Keep the following packages at their current version:
1) jitsi [Not Installed]
2) libjitsi-jni [Not Installed]

Accept this solution? [Y/n/q/?] q
Abandoning all efforts to resolve these dependencies.
Abort.

Looking at the repo. it seems that ONLY libavfilter5 or the ffmpeg
libavfilter5 is/are available :-

$ aptitude search libavfilter
p libavfilter-dev -
Development files for libavfilter
p libavfilter-ffmpeg-dev -
FFmpeg library containing media filters - development files
p libavfilter-ffmpeg5 -
FFmpeg library containing media filters - runtime files
i A libavfilter5 -
Libav video filtering library

I filed it as #760853 https://bugs.debian.org/760853 few days back.
Saw that the maintainer is dev@jitsi.org hence asking people upstream
to fix this.

Hi,

when the package was build the current version was libavfilter4, and
so the package was bound to it. Not sure how such problems are
handled, should someone rebuild and re-upload the package when
libavfilter4 is removed.

Anyway we are currently in process of submitting new package which
will be using the new libavfilter5:
http://lists.jitsi.org/pipermail/dev/2014-September/022040.html
So we are fixing it now.

Regards
damencho

P.S. Please do not cross-post on all mailing list, one is enough, thanks.
