[jitsi-users] Jitsi hangs on splash screen - Security Configuration Form

#1

Just downloaded and installed Jitsi. Running on Windows Vista x64.
App hangs on splash screen "Security Configuration Form".

Found an old thread with the same symptom:
http://lists.jitsi.org/pipermail/users/2017-May/012967.html

That eventually led me to issue 321.

I was not able to make any progress using the information in that
issue but I did capture log output using instructions from that issue.
I've included it below.
I've checked the noted registry entry, which was set to "Jitsi.exe".
I changed it to "javaw.exe" and ran again, but there was no change.
The logs below are from after the change of that registry entry to
javaw.exe.
I'd be happy to disable "office communicator" functionality is that is
possible through configuration.

Any help would be appreciated.

Just downloaded and installed Jitsi. Running on Windows Vista x64.

Which version did you download? 2.10 stable or a 2.11 nightly?

Found an old thread with the same symptom:

None of these seem related to the error you're facing on startup:
https://github.com/jitsi/jitsi/issues/357, which has been fixed.

If you don't want to try a nightly build, make sure the folder
%appdata%\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Quick Launch\User Pinned\TaskBar
exists.

Any help would be appreciated.

I created that directory and the application started!
Thanks for the help.

By the way, it was the stable build I downloaded.
