#1

The latest episode of the Linux Action Show discusses in depth how they
use Jitsi to do live video broadcasting.

In case people are wondering it's here:

They seem to have struggled a bit and there's some of the usual Java
hating but overall it's an interesting use case.

Does anyone know if they've tried reaching out to us with their issues?

They've featured/spotlighted Jitsi before and I don't recall the hosts
mentioning the mailing list and/or contacting the developers.
If they don't want to contact the devs about problems, they should at
least recommend it a possibility to the viewers.

I bet they would love to spend years doing a GTK port, then a QT port for
KDE, then a LXDE build....

Sheesh, sometimes the anti-Java irrational hate is ludricrous.

Hi Emil,

I've pointed out to the Jitsi Users List after recognizing they've had
some trouble with using Jitsi:

http://www.reddit.com/r/LinuxActionShow/comments/2y5hfl/the_jitsi_developers_dont_bite/

In their episode 355 from March 8 they came back to it in their feedback
segment (starting from 1:38:00):

http://www.jupiterbroadcasting.com/78447/linux-media-production-las-355/

The bottom line: Jitsi works mostly great now after some initial
problems and a Jitsi developer that appears in their chat room as sm has
reached out for them.

By the way: As a long time listener of the LAS I can assure you, Emil,
that they would love to hear from you, as they now rely on Jitsi for the
video connection between the two hosts and as they are always looking
out for interesting interviews:

http://www.jupiterbroadcasting.com/contact/

Also you might want to watch episode 354 where they were broadcasting
live from SCALE using Jitsi and a dedicated XMPP server.

Cheers

Christian

I second that. They'd definitely love to have some of the developers on
the show. You should get in touch.
