Hi,

with the current launcher you cannot start Jitsi with java 1.7, this
is the apple one which supports java up to 1.6. You need to compile
new launcher and use it, or start from source. The new launcher is
available in the repo code, but it is not compiled
https://github.com/jitsi/jitsi/tree/master/src/native/macosx/launcher.
It is still missing the splash screen functionality. And also mind
that video rendering is still broken with java 1.7 under macosx, there
can be and other glitches.
We will be fixing this at some point and using the new launcher and
also bundling jre.

Strange, java -version shows...

java version "1.7.0_51"
Java(TM) SE Runtime Environment (build 1.7.0_51-b13)
Java HotSpot(TM) 64-Bit Server VM (build 24.51-b03, mixed mode)

and

/System/Library/Frameworks/JavaVM.framework/Versions/Current/Commands/java is correctly symlinked

Directory listing under /Library/Java/JavaVirtualMachines shows

1.6.0_30-b12-404.jdk/
jdk1.7.0_11.jdk/
jdk1.7.0_51.jdk/

I wonder what changed. Jitsi connecting to Ostel was working fine on this machine a couple of months ago.

/Applications/Jitsi.app/Contents/Info.plist show...

<key>Java</key>
   <dict>
     <key>MainClass</key>
     <string>net.java.sip.communicator.launcher.SIPCommunicator</string>
     <key>JVMVersion</key>
     <string>1.6*</string>
     <key>ClassPath</key>
     <array>
       <string>$JAVAROOT/lib/bundle/commons-logging.jar</string>
       <string>$JAVAROOT/lib/bundle/log4j.jar</string>
       ...

Just as a test - I changed the version information above to 1.7* and when launching Jitsi is said...

"Cannot Launch 'Jitsi'. No compatible version of Java 1.7* is available." - with an option to open the Java Preferences app.

Where can I find the Jitsi log file?
