[jitsi-users] Jitsi Conference: Ways to invite participant in conference

#1

Hello,
We need to have video, audio, chat, file sharing features in our application.
And we found Jitsi Meet which provides the same.

Now, we need to setup Jitsi Meet and integrate it in our application with API's.
      So, here are few questions:

1. Is Jitsi Meet open source i.e. we can deploy it at our end and use for commercial purpose?
2. Workflow of inviting a user for conference?
3. Workflow/Implementation of API integration
4. Is file sharing available
5. Mobile support
6. UI Customization

Thanks,

Hello,

participant in a conference in Jitsi.

Jitsi does not normally use phone numbers for conferences at all; it uses URLs based at whatever Jitsi server you are hosting the conference on (eg:
http://meet.jit.si or your own).

If you are using Jigasi (Jitsi to SIP gateway), then it becomes *possible* for people to join a conference by dialling a telephone number (although the number needs to be set up on the remote SIP server and is not directly a function of Jitsi), however that is optional and not enabled by default.

Maybe you could explain a bit more about how you are currently inviting participants to conferences which ends up involving a phone number, so we understand the problem better.

Have you tried running a conference at http://meet.jit.si ?

Regards,

Antony.

Is Jitsi Meet open source i.e. we can deploy it at our end and use for commercial purpose?

https://github.com/jitsi/jitsi-meet

Workflow of inviting a user for conference?

Give user the room name, or a URL.

Mobile support

It depends on the browser support for WebRTC. There are also iOS and Android apps.

UI Customization

Some customisation is possible from the settings files (e.g. setting your own watermark / logo).

Hello,
We are able to start a conference with Jitsi Meet from below documentation

         domain = "meet.jit.si";

                https://github.com/jitsi/jitsi-meet/blob/master/doc/api.md

Can we know which api method we need to call to generate a URL for inviting a participant for conference.

I don't really understand the question.

If you want to create a URL for a new conference and then send that URL to
participants, you just make it up and use it - for example
https://meet.jit.si/anythingyoulike

There is no API needed to create a new conference.

Have you tried running a conference at http://meet.jit.si yet, to find out how
the system works in practice?

Yes, we have tried with the workflow.
Also, understood what you're trying to explain so just create a url with domain and room name.

But is there any way that we can restrict anonymous users to join the room.
We have found one article below that explains the logic we have to implement but I think it will require code changes.
http://www.tothenew.com/blog/authorizing-creationentrance-of-a-conference-in-jitsi/

What if we create a room name along with a key so only authorized users will have that.
What are your views on this?
