[jitsi-users] Jitsi additional STUN/TURN autodiscovery by DNS SRV

#1

Hi community, dear developers,
Recently i was playing with our corporate XMPP server (ejabberd) and with several xmpp-clients to get them work with audio/video calls. Looks like Jitsi is the one and only
So, i have two users in different networks behind their NATs. Both use Jitsi and xmpp on our server. They are able to communicate with voice only if specified "Additional STUN server with TURN enabled" in Jitsi. I'm curious what does option ICE-> Automatically discover STUN/TURN mean then? IMHO, it would be nice if Jitsi could discover STUN/TURN service by DNS SRV record, so there would be no need manually specify server, and client setup would be just entering JID/password... Or maybe i've missed something?

STUN/TURN auto-discovery feature will make A LOT users happy (and
sysadmins happier)!

I'm almost begging you, you super duper great awesome expert ninja
developers, to implement it! :PPPPP

Andriy, you can use jitsi's provisioning until then...

It sounds fantastic, one day passed and nightly-built client Jitsi 2.9.5441 works exactly as we have asked
It really uses auto-discovered STUN/TURN!
Thanks!
