[jitsi-users] jit.si is offline

#1

hi Emil and team,

jit.si is offline and has been most of the day. Also the http page. If
you've noticed that or maybe are already working on fixing it, some kind
of always-on (on a different server) statuspage to go and check what's
going on would be very nice to have. It's not much work to maintain and
you'd save yourself mails like this one

thanks,

jit.si seems to be quite unstable to me, you can almost be sure that its
down during one day a week.

Yes, we are aware of this and, as I already explained in another
thread yesterday, the outage was caused by a maintenance power down in
the location where we host the server.

The power was up about an hour later but it seemed that the machine
hosting jit.si had a number of other problems which prevented it from
starting. I am currently trying to figure out exactly what is going
on. I'll mail the list as soon as I know more.

Sorry for all the trouble every one.

Emil

Hey Yannik,

jit.si is above all a test service meant to help people test Jitsi
features. It is buy no means a system that boasts any percentage of
uptime or guaranteed maintenance.

That said, while we have ineed had two or three outages during the
past six months, I don't think that the 15% downtime estimate you
claim is accurate claiming that it is down 15% of the time is quite
harsh and most likely an exaggeration :).

I understand this is annoying and apologise for the issue. We are
trying to bring the service back up as soon as we can. After all, this
is what we use for most of our jitsi testing and dev communication.

Cheers,
Emil
