telephony code had been removed.
Yes, we did this after Google's announcements that they won't be supporting Google Voice through XMPP any more.
We were doing a lot of black magic to make this happen and there was no point in keeping it if it didn't server a purpose.
Does this mean that Jitsi no longer
even pretends to support receiving Google Voice calls?

I am not aware of any ... I believe the whole point was that you should be going through Google's site and generating revenue in order to use their service.
