[jitsi-users] instructions for setting up videobridge server

#1

At first big thanks for jitsi 2.0! Everything fine here so far, except a
few crackles when a sip connection starts (and that might be my
provicers problem).
Having listened to Emils great talks at FOSDEM, I am interested in
running a local videobridge server for experimenting. I have set up an
openfire server already (very easy) and checked out jitsi-videobridge
into Elipse, but how to proceed now ?
Is the installation process documented somewhere ?
Are there plans to realease a dedicated package for the videobridge
server (soon) ?

all the best, Mark

Hello, Mark

At first big thanks for jitsi 2.0! Everything fine here so far, except a
few crackles when a sip connection starts (and that might be my
provicers problem).
Having listened to Emils great talks at FOSDEM, I am interested in
running a local videobridge server for experimenting. I have set up an
openfire server already (very easy) and checked out jitsi-videobridge
into Elipse, but how to proceed now ?

This is the way I setup my sandbox:
1. Configure openfire to accept a jitsi-videobridge component with a
preshared secret
2. Checkout jitsi-videobridge (on the same machine as openfire, in my case)
and build it with 'ant compile'
3. Run jitsi-videobridge with
ant run -D'run.arg.line=--secret=SECRET --min-port=MIN_PORT
--max-port=MAX_PORT --host=OPENFIRE_HOSTNAME --port=OPENFIRE_COMPONENT_PORT
'

Boris
