[jitsi-users] Improvements for contact additions

#1

Hello,

I would like to try out the software "jitsi 2.2.4603.9615" a bit more on my Windows 7 system. I guess that I have completed the relevant application configuration.

I am trying to manage contacts as the next step. But the button "Add" is deactivated (greyed out) in the corresponding dialogue "Add contact". I assume that I can not add an entry here because this dialogue does not display input controls for an account selection (which I see on my Linux desktop environment).

Regards,
Markus

#2

Could you please send a screenshot of the dialog?

Yes. - See attachment ...

Have you got further ideas for this issue?

There should be a list of accounts that appears on top of these
fields. (See attached screenshot).

Something must have gone wrong when constructing the list. Your logs
could help clarify this:

Your logs could help clarify this:

Will it become possible to log some application behaviour without
activation of packet logging in the advanced settings?

Markus

Your logs could help clarify this:

I am curious how useful the attached log result will really be ...

Not sure I understand your question.

Application logs have never been dependent on packet logging.

Could you please try to reproduce the issue before sending me the
logs? Also did you remove anything from there? Like for example, logs
from earlier executions?

Application logs have never been dependent on packet logging.

Can my issue also be analysed without the generated pcap files?

Markus

Could you please try to reproduce the issue before sending me the logs?

I did that. - I can always reproduce the incomplete contact dialogue
here so far.
Can it be that this issue will not show a message in the log file?

Also did you remove anything from there? Like for example, logs
from earlier executions?

Yes. I cleaned up the directory "%APPDATA%\Jitsi\log" before my last try.

Markus

Sure.

Is anyone else seeing this?

I see this when presence is disabled in the account settings. When all of the accounts have presence disabled, no account remains to be selected and so contacts can not be added.

I see this when presence is disabled in the account settings.

Thanks for your information.
I acknowledge that the drop-down box "select account" appears also in
the contact dialogue on my Windows system again if I activate the
account setting "presence function (SIMPLE)" for example.

Markus
