[jitsi-users] ice and sip

hello,
"It is likely that ICE support for SIP calls would also be added to Jitsi
in 2014 especially since this would also help with WebRTC compatibility"

This quote is from jitsi FAQ page, I want to find about the progress of
this implementation.

Hey Sam,

The implementation is in (slow but certain) progress.

I have reviewed the ICE implementation with XMPP. Are the implementations
similar? I want to contribute to the SIP implementation. Can you guide me,
please?

Hey Sam,

Not quite the same. I am hoping to get a chance to hack at this in the
near future. I'll keep everyone posted here.

Hi Emil,
I need your help in understanding the implementation of ICE in the SIP
protocol implementation. I would love to complete the implementation with
your guidance.

i went through the implementation in the ice4sip branch, especially the "
https://github.com/jitsi/jitsi/blob/ice4sip/src/net/java/sip/communicator/impl/protocol/sip/IceTransportManagerSipImpl.java"
file, as well as other related files, I observed that no connectivity
checks were carried out. A number of methods were left unimplemented. Could
you, please, let me pick your brain as to what you plan to implement and
let me try to implement them. I know you guys are busy and you may not have
enough time to hack that and I need the feature desperately.

Has there been any progress on this lately?

Hi Emil,
Thanks for the great work you guys are doing generally and especially on
ice4j.

Based on the jitsi ice4sip branch which was last updated in March, I have
been trying to implement ICE in the jitsi SIP implementation, I need
clarification on the issue below:

1. based on draft-ivov-mmusic-trickle-ice-01
and draft-ivov-mmusic-trickle-ice-sip-00, implementing trickle ice in SIP
will require the implementation of rfc 6086 [SIP INFO] in JAIN-SIP.
JAIN-SIP currently implements rfc 2976, which is not in sync with your
recommendation.

Should I just stick with vanilla ICE as per rfc 5245 ? and if I want
trickle ice /SIP by all means, what's your recommendation ?.

Sam.
