[jitsi-users] how to use IRC with Jitsi

#1

Hi!

I would ask about IRC support - how far is it?

I read https://jitsi.org/GSOC/IRC but it seems like it is not accessible
today...

Best Regards,
Edmund

Hi Edmund,

I don't speak for anyone except me, a curious Jitsi user. That said, about
a week ago, someone did write to the list asking how they can go about
implementing IRC into Jitsi. Project lead Emil Ivov wrote back to discuss
licensing issues around IRC clients.

You may read about it here:
http://lists.jitsi.org/pipermail/dev/2013-November/018808.html

Hope this helps!

Best,
Jungle

Thanks for pointing this out - I then just wait for next Jitsi releases
- probably they will include IRC support and we may have all in one
place. We can certainly use Jabber for communication and for IRC just
another program, I use XChat for instance.

Best Regards,
Edmund
