Hey everyone,

Jitsi is really a great software, thanks to all developers!

Thank you for the kind words!

But I'm wondering if there are any plans to implement GPG support, so that users can use GPG to encrypt their chats?

We currently support OTR encryption for all chats. Shouldn't this
address your need?

Hi Emil,

OTR is great, but as far as I know, it lacks an important feature: Offline messages aren't encrypted at all! So the best way to have ALL messages encrypted is probably by using GPG. Maybe a combination of OTR and GPG would be a solution, so that you'd have the advantages of OTR (Perfect forward secrecy) and encrypted offline messages (with GPG). But I'm not an expert in cryptography, I don't know if this makes sense or is even possible at all.

best regards
Marian

Oh, I understand now. So to answer your original question - we don't
currently have any plans for GPG. I suppose we would accept
contributions in that regard if someone's interested in working but it
would make more sense to first stabilize the OTR support which
definitely needs some love.

Cheers,
Emil
