[jitsi-users] Google Talk calls not working

#1

Hi,

The destination phone rings, but the call drops as soon as it is
answered. I am running Jitsi 2.2.4603.9615 on Ubuntu 13.04. This link
seems to describe my experience: https://java.net/jira/browse/JITSI-1023
, but I couldn't find any resolution for it in the dev mailing list
archives.

Martin.

I can confirm that Google Voice does not work with outgoing calls to a land
phone.

Since Google plans to drop support for Google Voice (replacing it with the
proprietary Google Hangouts) it is unlikely Jitsi developers will want to
investigate this.

I have been using Google Voice on Jitsi via Simonics, and it works
great, both to call landlines and to receive calls. I say this in case
it is useful information to this dialogue

Unfortunately what David said is true: we are not likely to throw much effort into maintaining Google stuff.

That said, I just tried and Google Voice with my mobile and it *did* work.

Sadly, our experience is that kind of unreliability has been quite ... consistent for Google Voice and Google Jingle.

Cheers,
Emil
