[jitsi-users] FW: Double entries in XMPP contact list

#1

Hello,

We have a situation with Jitsi where occasionally the contacts list is populated with exactly double the users. Entering any search in the filter box and then returning to the contact list usually cleans this up, so does disabling and re-enabling the XMPP contact list.

Below is a screenshot of this very issue.

Has anyone else encountered this problem before?

Yes, I encountered this problem before.

It doesn't seem to be specifically XMPP related.

Regularly, I get this on *a* (my) contact list when starting.

Up to now I haven't been able to pinpoint what triggers this and given that I usually start a version that I've changed and built,
I'm not sure it's me or just some dormant bug that is triggered now and again.

I'm positive that I saw a similar report on the dev-list just before this summer btw. so I'm starting to suspect that it is indeed a
dormant bug.

Sorry to be so vague, I know it doesn't help you much further. Maybe we should start collecting more incidents...

Cheers,

  Tom.

I will see what I can compile. It's the only outstanding bug for me.

Yep, I've run into this a few times as well and have reported it
previously. Not really sure what triggers it though and I think
restarting Jitsi has cleared it when it's happened.

I also see double entries in the contact list using the svn version.

But that seems to be ok because they are contacts for two different XMPP
accounts.

Dropping one on the other merges those entries into one.
