[jitsi-users] few questions

#1

Hello to all

I have a few questions:
1. Is there a possibility that after receiving the call jitsi do lookup in outlook or LDAP and to show who's calling?
2. If the pop-up can offer options: transfer to voice mail, transfer to a my mobile number of else?
3. The possibility that after a given number in field by pressing Enter will start the call
4. Is there a manual for making skins?
5. Direct call to voice mail?

I m use asterisk.

Thx
Alex

Hey Alex,

Hello to all

I have a few questions:
1. Is there a possibility that after receiving the call jitsi do lookup
in outlook or LDAP and to show who's calling?

IIRC we do that for Outlook already. If the picture is not showing then
could it be that the number is absent in the Outlook entry, or appears
for several entries, one of which has no picture?

2. If the pop-up can offer options: transfer to voice mail, transfer to
a my mobile number of else?

Interesting. I suppose we'd be interested in a feature that allows the
user to redirect an incoming call to one of a series of numbers. I don't
think we'll have time to look at this in the near future but feel free
to open a ticket if you wish.

3.The possibilitythat after a given number in field by pressing Enter
will start the call

We currently to this with Ctrl+Enter (Cmd+Enter on Mac). We should
probably make it configurable though. Same as above: no time currently
but feel free to open a ticket.

4. Is there a manual for making skins?

Not that I am aware of.

5. Direct call to voice mail?

Tools -> Auto Answer & Call Forwarding.

Cheers,
Emil

Hi Emil,
Thanks for your answers. First of all, i would like to know in what way can i open ticket?

As far as connecting to the Outlook: the most of my contacts don't have pic but they have more phone numbers (business, mobile.). Asterisk in my environment sent header with phone number with extensions for example 0112102010@we. Is that the reason why Jitsi can not find contact in Outlook? Besides some contacts in Outlook have phone numbers in this format +381 (11) 2102010 and some of them just 011 2101010. Do you have suggestion how can i achieve that Jitsi show me who's calling me (name and surname) and make look up in Outlook?

About voice mail: On my Asterisk VM is on *97 extension. Jitsi show me that I have VM but when I click on thath VM, Jitsi try to call "Asterisk" and hang up. When I try to call *97 VM I have connection and then I put my password and listen to my VM. Did I made any mistakes in settings in Jitsi or in Asterisk. Here are some screenshots:

I really like yours work on JITSI and I would like to use JITSI like my preferred VoIP tool. I m into to do localization on Serbian and Croatian.

Thx a lot
Alex

Hi,

calling "Asterisk" is because asterisk is reporting this extension to call
for checking voicemail. This is configurable in asterisk by entering
"vmexten=*97" in sip general options.
