[jitsi-users] fail to start jibri-xmpp

Hi hanguofu, I had some problem like that.

First check the status of your other two processes:

sudo service jibri-xorg status

Check if the process is working properly.

Also with jibri-icewm

If either process is not working you should correct it before attempting to
start jibri-xmpp.

Hi everybody

Taking advantage that there are a lot of people trying to figure out how to make it run properly jibri, I would like to be part of it as well. Yesterday I was trying to setup jibri and everything looks very well. The services start ok, and when I make the manual test, I can see a new virtual participant in the videoconference however when I try to test the video recording I have a failure related with chrome driver despite that the driver is installed like in the wiki. Somebody else is facing this issue?

Cheers

hi, Guofu Han.

I am not very expert in jibri, I can help you with my little knowledge in
this, based on my work these days.

There may be many reasons for getting that error.

* Have you tried running "launch_recording.js"? So that you can verify
that everything is going well
* Ensure that the jibri user is in the correct groups to make full access
of the audio and video devices. The example jibri account in Ubuntu 16 are:
"adm","audio","video","plugdev".
* An easy solution would be to restart the instance, to close all processes
that can use the graphical interface.

You may be able to find more detail on why your jibri-xorg service is crashing by looking in /tmp, where the xorg logs are currently set to go. it’s possible you’re missing a package or configuration.

Hi hanguofu, I had some problem like that.

First check the status of your other two processes:

sudo service jibri-xorg status

Check if the process is working properly.

Also with jibri-icewm

If either process is not working you should correct it before attempting to start jibri-xmpp.
