[jitsi-users] Ejabberd with Videobridge on firewall

#1

As nothing about NAT setup is described in [1], I'd be grateful if you
could clarify a little bit :
- It is impossible to deploy jitmeet on a natted machine ?
- If yes, is it a matter of functionnality missing from
jitmeet/videobridge, or is it just complete non-sense and cannot ever
work
- If it is partly possible, what services absolutely need to be deployed
on a public IP, and what can be safely hidden (videobridge, stun, xmpp,
webapp)

I am not very familar with VoIP specifics, but the usual approach is to
bind your servers to specific IPs and ports in your private network
and configure port forwarding on the firewall with the public IP.

I looked for an option to bind jitsi to specifc IP and port, as
I am facing the ICE failed problem on xmpp calls and prefer to simply
configure the router instead of setting up or using relay node services.

But I did not find a configuration option, yet. Maybe someone is able
to add some insight?

That's what I did.
All the services behind jitmeet are on the same machine in a private network.
I initially thought setting up the right port forwarding would be enough, but I'm starting to doubt about it, and wonder if this setup is possible at all. Hence my questions.

So far I have tried forwarding tcp 80/5222/3478 and udp 3478 to the private machine hosting all the servers, with no luck.

Thanks in advance for any light on this,

J
