[jitsi-users] Disable Options on account basis

#1

Hi everybody,

I'm using Jitsi with an old version of asterisk which is not capable
of anything besides telephony. Is there a way to disable chat, video
call and screen sharing for a SIP account? I set up an openfire XMPP
server for this purpose.

I already looked at the configuration file, yet nothing relevant pops
up. I also tried to look at the source code of the SIP provider but I
couldn't locate anything useful.

Best,
Andreas Steinel

Hi Boris,

Thank you for your answer.

With the information of DISABLE_CALLING I was able to find the actual
class that implements the SIP Provider
(src/net/java/sip/communicator/impl/protocol/sip/ProtocolProviderServiceSipImpl.java)
yet there is nothing in there to disable chat and video (only sharing
and calling). So it seams that it's not possible to disable these
buttons.

DISABLE_CALLING however yields disabled calling, sharing and video for
jabber, so this is linked and there cannot be disabled individually.

I tried cusax and I can call now directly from the xmpp contact, which
is good, but
- there is no screen sharing anymore, which is a very good feature
- i can call over xmpp, yet no correct presense of the sip is
available at the moment

Best,
Andreas

net.java.sip.communicator.impl.protocol.sip.MESSAGING_DISABLED=true

However, this applies to all SIP accounts.

Hi Ingo,

thank you. That is working. I disabled the 'Messaging' and the
'Desktop Sharing' capabilities successfully. This only leaves me with
video, which cannot be disabled. Maybe it would be good to disable the
button if there are no video codecs enabled or something like this or
implement another switch to disable it completely.
