[jitsi-users] Dialpad to make calls

#1

Hi,

I would like to use Jitsi as a SIP softphone. However, I am not able to
locate any option to actually make calls by dialing a phone number. I saw,
that this feature was available in sip-communicator. There were tabs
underneath the menu bar and above the contact list. With those tabs it was
possible to bring up a dialpad. However, there are no tabs in my
installation of Jitsi. I am using 1.0-beta1-nightly.build.3450 on Windows 7.

Thank you very much in advance!

Sincerely,

Moritz

Hi Emil,

thank you very much for your quick response. I was totally unaware of that
option. Furthermore, it took me some time to figure out, that I have to
input the international phone number with preceding 00 instead of +. But now
it works very well!

Thank you very much!

Hey Moritz,

You just need to type the number or URI into the search field. You can also
add numbers and URIs into your contact list and call them from there.

Hope this helps,
Emil

This only depends on your SIP provider. The one that I am using for
example, would work "+", "00" or the international calling code without
a prefix at all.
