[jitsi-users] Crash in voice/video chat

#1

There is a machine on my LAN where they are using Skype and previously used Pidgin, Spark and now using Jitsi.
If Jitsi initiates a voice/video chat or receives a voice/video chat request, the computer immediately goes into BSOD.
This never happens to Skype.
The config is Win7 64bit, Microsoft LiveCam, Asus AM2 mobo with Phenom II and 4x2GB RAM.
This machine is the only one where this issue exists. I have a few more AMD 64bit machines and none has the same problem. Neither to Intel boxes.
Native Microsoft LiveCam app can grab video no problem, same about audio via various sound app.

Thanks
Alex

This is most likely a driver-related issue. Have you made sure that
the drivers of your audio and video devices are the latest available?
Have you googled your audio and video devices in combination with
BSOD?

I'm forwarding your message to the users mailing list where you
originally started the thread. Please do not contact me privately in
the future.

Not really motivated to do that as Jitsi is the only problematic app thus far.

Then you may consider sending us Jitsi's logs as described at
https://jitsi.org/Documentation/FAQ#logs in case they contain any
hints.

This machine serves database, web and acts as a media server on the LAN and in about 5 years Jitsi was the 1st to crash it.
That convinces me that driver is stable for the rest of the uses.

I wouldn't like to get polemical here.
