Hi,

Can you check your prosody again, I think the manual install is
directly modifying the main prosody config. While the quick install
uses the include and the configuration file is:
/etc/prosody/conf.d/yourdomain.cfg.lua

If this is the case, make sure you delete the duplicate configs that
are in the main prosody file (/etc/prosody/prosody.cfg.lua) and make
sure it has this at the end:
Include "conf.d/*.cfg.lua"
Restart prosody, jitsi-videobridge and jicofo and you should not see
those exception from the logs and it should be working fine.
This situation will not happen if you just follow the quick install
guide, you will not have conflicting configs.

damencho

Hello,

I installed it 15 days ago, on Azure VM with Ubuntu Server 16.04 LTS

What I did:

I followed the steps of the manual installation @ https://github.com/jitsi/jitsi-meet/blob/master/doc/manual-install.md, but it did not work
.Then I uninstalled it following this steps @ https://github.com/jitsi/jitsi-meet/issues/1444
Then I installed it again following the quick steps guide and it worked but apparently only p2p.

I have alreay checked the secrets that you mention (jicofo and jvb) and they are correct compared with the prosody configuration file.

The Jigasi file has the below content
# Jigasi settings
JIGASI_SIPUSER =
JIGASI_SIPPWD =
JIGASI_SECRET = (here is a password)
JIGASI_OPTS = ""
JIGASI_HOSTNAME = (My hostname)
JIGASI_HOST = localhost

# add java system accessories that are passed to jigasi (by default they are for the login configuration file)
JAVA_SYS_PROPS = "- Djava.util.logging.config.file = / etc / jitsi / jigasi / loggin.properties"

Both jicofo and jvb secrets that are found in /etc/jitsi/jicofo/config
(JICOFO_SECRET) and /etc/jitsi/videobridge/config (JVB_SECRET) do not match the secrets that are in prosody config:
/etc/prosody/conf.d/your_domain.cfg.lua under the component sections Component "jitsi-videobridge.....

Jigasi also has wrong configuration: java.lang.NullPointerException:
The account properties contained no user id.

I'm interested how did you install you just did apt-get install jitsi-meet, without editing any of the files mentioned? If this is the case can you tell me which operating system are you using and its version, also was it stable or unstable debian repository.

Hey,

What about prosody main config /etc/prosody/prosody.cfg.lua? The
duplications, I suspect, are there and the include should be there, if
it is missing.
Remove the include from your mydomain.com.cfg.lua, it shouldn't be there.

I see. And the Include "conf.d/*.cfg.lua" part was there?

Can you stop prosody, check if it is stoped # ps ax | grep prosody,
kill it if it is not stopped, start it again, restart jvb and jicofo
and check again for the errors
"org.jitsi.meet.ComponentMain.call().278 not-authorized,
host:localhost, port:5347".
You can do ps ax | grep videobridge and check whether the correct
secret is there, you can do the same for jicofo ps ax | grep jicofo.
I'm out of ideas, here. Those are the component passwords that you can
find in the /etc/jitsi/jicofo/config and /etc/jitsi/videobridge/config
and they need to match those in the prosody config and everything
should be fine if prosody is using those configs.
Hum, the error is not-authorized, if it doesn't see the config it will
be host-unknown, so definitely the secret is wrong. Can you check for
extra symbols in the file, like spaces after the secret, this can be a
problem maybe. We should be trimming those, but I'm not sure about
that.

Hey,

What about prosody main config /etc/prosody/prosody.cfg.lua? The duplications, I suspect, are there and the include should be there, if it is missing.
Remove the include from your mydomain.com.cfg.lua, it shouldn't be there.

Hi,

Can you check your prosody again, I think the manual install is directly modifying the main prosody config. While the quick install uses the include and the configuration file is:
/etc/prosody/conf.d/yourdomain.cfg.lua

If this is the case, make sure you delete the duplicate configs that are in the main prosody file (/etc/prosody/prosody.cfg.lua) and make sure it has this at the end:
Include "conf.d/*.cfg.lua"
Restart prosody, jitsi-videobridge and jicofo and you should not see those exception from the logs and it should be working fine.
This situation will not happen if you just follow the quick install guide, you will not have conflicting configs.

Updating thread after offline debugging we had.

After checking and restarting prosody, the problem with the component
connection was already fixed and the problem was only the jvb
connection.
Following https://github.com/jitsi/jitsi-meet/blob/master/doc/quick-install.md#advanced-configuration,
fixed the problem.
