[jitsi-users] Contacts in Multiple Groups

#1

Hi There

I am using Jitsi with OPenfire. I love the APP!

I also use SPARK with the same server, and I have a problem with the way Jitsi gets and displays contacts from the server.

If a user exists in two groups on Openfire, Spark displays their membership in both groups. Jitsi only displays the first one (alphabetically it seems)

Also, Jitsi seems to cache the contacts so changes to the list memberships are reflected quickly in Spark, but only occasionally in Jitsi.

The question is:
1. Can jitsi be configured to show an individual contact in multiple groups?
2. How can I trigger Jitsi to re-download the group memberships? Restart Jitsi seems only partially effective (new groups appear, but removed memberships are still displayed)

Thanks!

Unfortunately this is not currently supported.

2. How can I trigger Jitsi to re-download
the group memberships?

It retrieves the full list every time it starts. If that's not working,
then it's a bug and we'd need you to tell us how to reproduce the issue.

In the meantime, if you need a quick workaround, then you could simply
delete your "contactlist.xml" file from the Jitsi home folder.

If you are not sure how to find it, the contactlist.xml is in the same
location as our log directory:

http://jitsi.org/faq/logs

Hope this helps,
Emil
