[jitsi-users] Connection refused at jvb.sh startup with Prosody and VideoBridge

#1

Hello,

I got a Prosody XMPP server on Ubuntu Server 12.04 x86 and I tried to run Jitsi VideoBridge to make video-conference calls.
There is no real documentation on Prosody for including JVB as a component so I tried this in the prosody config file :

Component "jisti-videobridge.mydomain.com"
     component_secret = "xxxxx"

component_ports = { 5275 }
component_interface = "127.0.0.1"

When I started JVB with the shell file I got :

*$ ./jvb.sh --secret='xxxxx' --port=5275 --host='127.0.0.1' --domain='mydomain.com'*

I searched on Google for this problem for days and I don't find any convenient solution for me...
The 5275 port is opened in my iptables configuration.

Thanks for the help.

Hi,

Hello,

There is no real documentation on Prosody for including JVB as a

component_ports = { 5275 }
component_interface = "127.0.0.1"

I think that the last two lines might not be in the right section of the
config file. Check your prosody logs for "Option 'component_interface'
has no effect for virtual hosts - put it in the server-wide section
instead".

You can make sure that prosody listens on the intended addresses by
looking for "Activated service 'component' on" in the logs.

Boris
