[jitsi-users] Checking microphone volume with PortAudio interface

#1

Hello,

I am trying out microphone selection in the software "jitsi 2.2.4603.9615" on my
openSUSE system. I have chosen the audio system "PortAudio" in the application
settings.

1. I can also choose an entry from the drop-down list "Microphone" in the
corresponding dialogue. There is a bar below it that seems to display the
current sound volume if I make some noise.
But I have got doubts about its correctness. Why does this blue bar still
quiver after I switched the phone off from my headset intentionally?

2. Do I need to adjust the input volume (the "boost") eventually?
Does Jitsi need any extensions there like the way that fine-tuning can be
performed by the application "Audacity"?

Regards,
Markus

The meters seem to work as expected for me. In Tools > Options > Audio,
double check that the "Audio In" that you have selected is actually the
headset and not an internal laptop microphone, for example.
