[jitsi-users] Change Password feature

#1

Hi There, I'm trying to allow my users to change their password, using the
latest daily build.

The server is the latest openfire build. (XMPP)

The option is there under the account in jitsi, but it says "Your jabber
server does not support password changes"

However I have the option enabled in openfire. I also tested by logging
into pidgin, and pidgin allowed me to change the password.

Just wondering if anyone knows what the issue is?

Thanks,

Cameron

We show that message if we detect no support for registrations (XEP 77).
Could you attach the log files[0] saved after you open the account and see
the message? Then we can figure out exactly what goes wrong.

Boris

Hello,

We had an off-list discussion and Cameron figured out that enabling
registrations in openfire makes the problem go away. And indeed, Jitsi
checks for account creation, instead of "in-band registration" as was
intended.

I've created http://java.net/jira/browse/JITSI-1090 for this.

Hey,

That's finally fixed in r10536. The 'change password' button is active if
we detect 'jabber:iq:register' support via disco#info.
