[jitsi-users] camera not working

#1

Hi, I have a problem with camera (Logitech c930e)

On jitsi online demo page everything is working fine but on our local
installation it says that permissions are not granted. We have tried the
camera on few computers and it works fine. Windows 10 is the OS. Both Chrome
and Firefox are not working. We accept the permission to use the camera by
the browser but still it tells that we need to grant permissions

Any suggestions what is wrong.

Hi,

can you take a look at the js console logs and maybe attach them here,
they are the first step of debugging such problems.

Hi,

Your http-bind is not working for some reason. Try hitting
https://yourdomain.com/http-bind to test it, check it how it looks on
meet.jit.si.
This is a prosody configuration.
Common mistake is when installing jitsi-meet to provide an ip address and
then access the deployment using some dns, or the other way around.

Hi, I get the same message as when going to meet.jit.si

As you can see we are accessing jitsi via ip address.

I see that the bosh service uses port 5280, do I need to open some other ports beside 80 and 443

Regards.

Hi,

So if you access https://10.0.40.95/http-bind and you see the same
output as when doing https://meet.jit.si/http-bind?

In the network tab screenshot, you have some failed http-bind
requests, you need to click on one of them and check on the right the
response, and why it failed.
This is the bosh connection and this is the only channel the web
client communicates with the server, if it doesn't work for some
reason, nothing will work.

Hi,

No need to open any ports. So you hit a location that is configured in
nginx(apache or jetty) that proxy the requests to the prosody server.
This way the web server handles the https and proxy the requests to
the xmpp server to handle it.
