[jitsi-users] Available video resolutions

#1

After fixing my video call connect issues, now I'm just getting black
screens where the video image should be. This also happens when looking at
Video in the Options menu. When I checked the video resolution setting it
was set to Auto, but when I tried setting it manually I noticed the highest
setting available is 1280x720. My video camera is capable of 1920x1080.
How can I add this option to the client? I noticed other references about
adding it to config.js, but after searching my entire hard drive I cannot
find that file.

Thanks,

This definitely seems to be isolated to Jitsi..all of my other camera apps
work fine. I have tried reinstalling camera drivers and upgrading Jitsi to
the latest nightly build to no avail.it recognizes the webcam (Logitech
C920) but in preview or video calls only shows a black screen. It does
activate the camera (blue lights).

Not sure where to go next.

So I reverted back to the latest stable build (2.8.5426) and the video
works. Does anyone know what changed in 2.9 that might cause the black
screen issue?

This might be related to this:
https://github.com/jitsi/jitsi/issues/220

Lacking the hardware to test this, I'm not sure I can do much about it.

If you don't mind fiddling with the content of some compressed jar files,
you could try placing native\jndirectshow.dll from 2.8 into
sc-bundles\libjitsi.jar\win32-x86 (or win32-x86-64 if you're using the 64bit
version) from the latest 2.9.
