[jitsi-users] Autojoin to chat-rooms

#1

Hello!

I'am using ejabberd-2.1.11 on Mageia 3 x86_64 as a Jabber-server and Jitsi 2.4.4997 on Mageia 3 x86_64 as Jabber-Client.
I try to configure autojoin on the server-side using ejabberdctl running this command on the server:
ejabberdctl --spool /var/lib/ejabberd/spool/ private_set user1@example.com conference.example.com "`cat /root/element.xml`"

The file element.xml contains:
\<storage\ xmlns\=\'storage:bookmarks\'\>\<conference\ minimize\=\'0\'\ jid\=\'chatroom1@conference.example.com\'\ autojoin\=\'1\'\ name\=\'room\'\>\<nick\>User1\</nick\>\</conference\>\</storage\>

But it doesn't change anything, user doesn't join to chat-room automatically.

So the question is: should that work? Does Jitsi support such configurations from server-side?

In the previous Jitsi version (jitsi-2.2-4603) I saw the Option "Autojoin" in the Chat-Room section, but now (jitsi-2.4-4997) I see only "Join" without "Autojoin"...

Thanks
Kind regards, Damir

Hi,

Hello!

I'am using ejabberd-2.1.11 on Mageia 3 x86_64 as a Jabber-server and Jitsi
2.4.4997 on Mageia 3 x86_64 as Jabber-Client.
I try to configure autojoin on the server-side using ejabberdctl running
this command on the server:
ejabberdctl --spool /var/lib/ejabberd/spool/ private_set user1@example.com
conference.example.com "`cat /root/element.xml`"

The file element.xml contains:
\<storage\ xmlns\=\'storage:bookmarks\'\>\<conference\ minimize\=\'0\'\
jid\=\'chatroom1@conference.example.com\'\ autojoin\=\'1\'\
name\=\'room\'\>\<nick\>User1\</nick\>\</conference\>\</storage\>

But it doesn't change anything, user doesn't join to chat-room
automatically.

So the question is: should that work? Does Jitsi support such configurations
from server-side?

No we do not currently support xmpp bookmarks.

In the previous Jitsi version (jitsi-2.2-4603) I saw the Option "Autojoin"
in the Chat-Room section, but now (jitsi-2.4-4997) I see only "Join" without
"Autojoin"...

This autojoin has been moved to the contactlist, there you can find
the buttons and options. And those are user defined, managed only by
the client.
