[jitsi-users] audio-only users

Hi Arthur,

Have the people trying to join meetings without a camera tried to
connect already? I have had a number of meetings where we don't use the
camera -- you can just click the "camera" button in the toolbar to turn
it off, and audio keeps going. It actually works really well when the
connection is poor. I don't know if Jitsti Meet would refuse to start a
connection if the machine had no camera, though. I'd love to hear what
you find, as a number of our users might find this to be a big plus.

I have people trying to join meetings that only have audio, but no video
camera.

Are there plans for Jitsi Meet to support that scenario?

Hi Gus, I'm more referring to cases where the device, for eg. a laptop
connecting to Jitsi Meet does not have a webcam or any camera connected. It
only has a microphone/speakers.

Currently Jitsi Meet rejects those connections with a message that says
"Failed to obtain permissions to use the local microphoneand/or camera."

True you can stop your camera after you are already connected.
